The mission of the Economic Development Office is to foster economic growth through collaboration and innovation for the continue prosperity of our community.
The city of Galena Park is located within an enormous and growing consumer market, in the midst of a worldwide corridor for the Energy, Healthcare, Petrochemical and and Aerospace industries. The city has an educational system widely recognized for its capacity to produce employee talent. The city also has a broad availability of affordable housing. Employment in Galena Park has been growing at a rate of 9.5%, from employees in 2014 to 2016. The city's median age is 29, compared to 2014, where the average age was 31.
The city of Galena Park is situated east of the city of Houston, south of Jacinto city, west of the tip of Galveston Bay, and north of the Houston Ship Channel leading to the Port of Houston, which ranks first in foreign waterborne tonnage and second in total tonnage in the United States.
